Have you made mistakes during a job interview? Chances are good you did and you regret every minute of it. Sometimes, though, you are making job interview mistakes and you don't even realize it. You could be missing great job opportunities because of such mistakes, too. For those who have meet with a hiring manager and didn't get the call back, it may help to take a look back at some of the things that could have been your downfall.

#1 - You Drank Alcohol During the Job Interview

You met the manager at the local bar for a quick on the go interview. The manager ordered water and you got a beer, and then another. By the end of the job interview, you can count on the fact that you said some things you should not have.

#2 - You Told That Story

Perhaps your mistake was telling too much information during the job interview. Do you really think that just because the hiring manager is in his 20s or 30s that he spends his time on the weekends partying? If you told him what you did, chances are good you didn't get the response because you did so. Don't tell stories that make you look bad.

#3 - You Were Too Friendly

You can into the job interview with the goal to impress. You extended your hand, shook the hiring manager's hand, and got the interview started. Then, you asked personal questions or make it seem as though you were best friends with the hiring manager. Keep things formal and pleasant not too friendly.

#4 - You Bad Mouthed the Hiring Manager Online

You did not think the interview went bad, but you didn't like the interviewer. You went home and spilled this information on your social media profile. What you didn't know is that deep in your connections, that hiring manager saw your post. You didn't get the job offer either.

#5 - You Commented on the Wrong Thing

In an effort to connect with the hiring manager, you commented on her stylish purse. Later, you stated you loved her nails. Then, you asked where she got her hair done. It's too much and it has nothing to do with the interview.

These job interview mistakes can cost you big time. Don't make them. Avoid them, in fact, at all costs so that you do end up getting the job offer.
